Welcome to Genevieve's life!

Welcome to Genevieve's blog! My goal is to post a photo everyday to remember and document just how fast she is growing up. We don't want to miss anything!

Fun with Grandma and Grandpa

We are very lucky to have Genevieve two days a week now that is it summer and we are retired. We have the whole set up now--a play yard, high chair, and stroller. I drive down to get Genevieve about 6:30 (early!) and bring her back to our house. Then the fun begins.

There is a Baby Einstein radio that plays four classical music selections. Genevieve loves it! She plays the songs over and over and it can make her happy when she doesn't want to do something, such as get buckled in her car seat.
Another fun toy is the Little People tugboat that was her mommy's. It has a little sailor to go in the boat and Genevieve puts him in and out, in and out. We are required to clap each time he goes in. The remote from the CD player has become a toy phone. Genevieve puts it up to her ear and says her version of "Hello" and then proceeds to talk and talk on the phone and wave her arms in some deep, important conversation with someone.
We play chase and peek-a-boo around the love seat. Genevieve crawls or walks around it and I try to catch her or surprise her. You never know which direction she will go and sometimes she surprises me. If is isn't too hot outside we will swing in the baby swing for a while. At first it is all fun and smiles, and then you can see her eyes glaze over and she gets sleepy from all the back and forth. (I have used this to get her to take her nap.)
Books are now becoming interesting to her. She loves the ones that you can touch and feel the furry caterpillar or the fuzzy ducking. I can even read the book to her and she will sit and listen.
Genevieve has a mission in life--to empty our any bag or cabinet that she finds. We let her play with the plastic storage containers and the pots. She goes for cabinet and proceeds to empty it out. Sometimes she even puts things back it. I don't mind because it entertains her and she can't hurt herself or the plastic containers.
One of her favorite things to do is stand in front of the glass on the fireplace and play. I think she likes to look at herself! The other favorite activity right now is walking. She hold one hand or two and walks in circles from the kitchen to the living room, through the entry way to the family room and around and around again. Sometimes she stops by the doorstop in the entry way to pull it and watch it move. Such fun!
I think her most favorite time is when she sees her daddy or mommy come to pick her up. That is when Genevieve really lights up and gets excited.
