Welcome to Genevieve's life!

Welcome to Genevieve's blog! My goal is to post a photo everyday to remember and document just how fast she is growing up. We don't want to miss anything!

Leap Year!

2012 is your first leap year! Mommy and Daddy worked all day then Dave came over for some yummy pot roast Mommy made in the crock pot. You were all snuggly with Dave as soon as he came through the door. Not sure what that was all about but you loved having him hold you all night. Lucky for him you gave him a break when it was time to eat. Dave hasn't yet mastered the "Mommy eating with one hand" trick yet.

Beep Beep Beep Yea!

Tonight you kept loading up your car with your coloring books, markers, cheerios and toys. Maybe you were packing for your next road trip? I am not sure what you were doing, but it was really fun to watch you!

Pea's with Grandpa

When Mommy and Aunt Teresa were growing up Grandpa would always take us outside to pick peas and eat them raw out of the garden. We would say "boy bo boy bo boy" and eat peas, throwing the pod into the grass. Genevieve you have started the tradition with Grandpa to but you don't yet much care for eating the peas. You like to pick them and hand them to Grandpa mostly.

Five Stop Day

Today was busy! We started off the day at Great Grandma's house, Daddy cut the lawn and you played with Renita (you out there reading this Renita??) while I stayed with Great Grandma inside. You smushed your little finger in trying to fold up the chair and cried, a lot, poor thing. Next we stopped by the Lake's house to visit little Lindsay. She is crawling now, what a big girl! You liked playing with her tea seat that made a pouring noise, it was cute. Next stop was a nap for you but a baby shower for mommy to go to. Mommy's friend and carpool (should we say former carpool) buddy is having twin boys.

It was a lot of fun but I had to rush home because we were invited to the Wendell's annual Oscar party in Anaheim. There were lots of other little babies for you to play with there and you shared the toys very nicely. On the way home we stopped by Aunt Teresa and Uncle Scotts to say hello since we were in the neighborhood. What a busy day!

SB Train Musuem

Little did I know that San Bernadino had a train museum until I saw it featured on Inland Empire Explorers. We took Grandpa with us and headed out this morning to take a look. You loved pressing the button that made the traffic light go on, laughing at the fake stuffed deer head and when the freight train went by woah! That was probably the highlight of your week! It is only open Saturdays but they are having a big train weekend in April that we are going to try to go to. I didn't get to read many of the plaques or stories but it looked very interesting to read when I return without you in tow.

By the glow of the computer

Tonight you were getting a little crazy asking for Dora, Dora, Dora, so we put it on Netflix instant stream and you loved it. You sat there munching away on your cheerios and drinking your water as you watched Dora. After you were done with Dora you went to play with your laptop Aunt Christi gave you for Christmas. You put on the DJ Lance hat and the duck bath mitt and had a great time in the living room.

Cuddle Cuddle

Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.3

Today you stayed with Grandma Terri in case your fever came back. You were a happy baby all day with no sign of fever. Lucky for all of us what ever you had was short lived. When I got home from work you were so cuddly I thought you might still be sick, but I think you were just in the mood to cuddle tonight. I didn't mind, I love to cuddle with you!

Little Miss Fever

Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.3

Genevieve today you ended up with a little fever at the end of the day at Ms. Nancy's house and then again tonight. You went to sleep about 6:30pm and woke up about 9pm shivering and so hot. :( We gave you a cool bath, baby advil (which you like WAY TO MUCH!) and you were doing just fine. You were not that happy of a baby though as evidenced by your face in this picture.

Ice Cream, Ice Cream, We all Scream for Ice Cream

Your favorite dessert is ice cream! Tonight Mommy made you up a little bowl for ice cream and you were happy as could be eating it. Don't get me wrong, Genevieve doesn't get ice cream every night, but when she does she loves it! Any flavor will do, but we have been eating vanilla because that is what we have in the freezer.

Vince's (Guest Blogger Dave)

Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.3

Lil' Baby, how's it going? This is your godfather, Davey Paniagua. You can call me Uncle Dave, like the guy from Full House, except I am not Canadian and never dated Alanis Morissette. Speaking of Alanis, did you know that she was the most popular singer of the early 90's? A female singer making it big in a man's game. Who would of thought? All sarcasm aside, your mom, dad, and I went to Vince's Spaghetti on Monday, February 20th.

Nothing big happened that day. I think I slept most of the day, and my dog did, too. You'll get to know the dog soon enough. She's a handful, just like you! Just kidding. So we went to this restaurant called Vince's, and thankfully, it has nothing to do with that awful show on MTV called Jersey Shore. I bet Italians around the world cringed when that show came on the air. Probably just as bad as when they made a movie called the Mexican and it starred Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts.

Oh yeah, the food at Vince's is pretty good. Kinda reminds me of one giant catering business that doesn't force to be part of a terrible wedding reception or, worse, an anniversary party. You'll understand all these things one day. I mean, seriously, anniversary parties are boring. You come there to say, "Hey, good job, you did exactly what you were supposed to do: Stay married! Here's a gift card to Macaroni Grill."

When all was said and done, you made a complete slob of yourself, but we all love you for it. Look at that picture! What a mess! Good thing they got a million punk kids working there to clean it up and then act really lazy when they're done. Finally, you fell asleep on my shoulders for a little while, and I went home to play video games.

The End.

Mt. Baldy Tubing

Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.3

Today Mommy had some time to herself! I bought a GroupOn for tubing at Mt. Baldy and with the recent snow fall I thought it would be a good time to use it. Well, me and everyone else in SoCal. It was so crowded! A line to redeem my coupon, a line for the ski lift, a line to get the wrist band and then a line to do the tubing. It was fun even though it was crowded, gave me a chance to people watch, eavesdrop on conversation in front and back of me and just be still. It was about 30 degrees but I was bundled up well and only my feet were cold, next time I need two pairs of socks. Lots of snow and fun, when you get older and can sit still we will take you up on the ski lift.

Kids Muesum with Grandma

Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.3

With nothing on the agenda today we thought we would make good use out of our annual pass to the Chino Youth Museum and head there for the afternoon. Daddy was doing a sprinkler job so we invivted Grandma Terri to come along with us. You loved walking around showing off how you can open and close all the doors in the place. You spent the most time in the kitchen area  but enjoyed the science area and rescue area as well. A birthday party was happening but it wasn't to crowded.

Past Bed Time

When Mommy doesn't get it together soon enough for you to go to bed, do I hear about it! Everything is a disaster, you want to be held, play with the water, wear my shoes, turn off the light, what ever it is Mommy isn't doing it right or fast enough. Here you are all ready in your "dog" pajamas for bedtime and I was trying to get things shut down. I was not moving fast enough for you and thought you would let me know I was displeasing you.

Color? Color?

Your new favorite question is "color?". Of course you don't like to use the washable crayons either, you love to color with ball point pens. You also like to pick out your own pen from the pencil cup, not enough for Mommy to pick one out. Tonight when we came home you pointed to the Dora book on the table and I am pretty sure you said "Mommy read Dora". What you meant was Genevieve wanted to turn the pages at lightening speed, but you got your point across very nicely. I can't believe you are starting to put together sentences already. Seems like yesterday you were spitting up all over the place and couldn't hold your head up.

So Colorful!

What a colorful baby today! You looked so cute in some hand me down clothes from the Fischer girls. The Foofa shoes really tied it all together today. You got to bring all your treats up to Ms. Nancy's house for your friends today as well. Everyone got Oreo's with a dog valentine except for baby Alex, who got cherrios and a dog valentine. We will wait a few months before we give her any cookies!

A Very Dora Valentine's Day

You could say it was a very Dora Valentines Day around here! You got Dora pajamas, Dora fruit snacks, Dora book, a Dora DVD, a Dora card and I am sure I am missing something in there. You got to see both grandmas today and they spoil you! You were very pleased with your Dora collection and have already put it to good use. Happy 2nd Valentines Day to my beautiful baby girl, I love you.

Mommy and Me

Today I finally got to go with you and Grandma to your Fun with Your One class in Upland. It was your Valentiens Day Party so there were lots of snacks, songs and fun games to play! It was fun to watch you play with all your little friends. You sure know the routine as well, when songs are to be song, when it is time to get the chairs, etc. Who knew someone so little could remember all of that!?!?!? I had a great time visiting with you and I hope you had a good time with Mommy, even if I didn't know all the songs...

Santa Ana Zoo

What a fun day! I got you all dressed up for Valentines Day and we went to the Santa Ana Zoo with Aunt Teresa and Uncle Scott. It was a perfect size zoo for you. Not to big, a petting zoo, a playground and some very funny camels. We bought a year pass so we could go back again. We took so many good pictures it was hard to narrow it down to just a few. You mostly loved running around the place, pushing the stroller and having us chase you a bit. Maybe next time you will like the monkeys or birds a little bit more.

Dora Pirate Party and Cousins

Mommy took you to go see Dora's Pirate Party Adventure today at the California Theater for the Performing Arts in San Bernardino. You liked it and were entertained the whole time (well the last 15 minutes you were entertained by the seat that folded up and down, but you still had a good time!). We hit some rain on the way home but we got back safe and sound. Your cousin Steven came over tonight with Daddy's Godfather and his wife Mena. It was Steven's mommy's birthday so his Mommy and Daddy were out celebrating. You two had a fantastic time playing with all your toys and taking turns driving the little red car. They live so close, we need to get together again soon.

So Tired Tonight

Well it was your once a month tired night tonight. You greeted me at the door when I came home from work and within just a few minutes of your demand for "Milk!" you were sleeping. You woke up once, we changed your diaper and you were back out again. Mommy spent the night catching up on work email and Daddy cleared shows on the DVR. Not a very exciting evening, but you got lots of good rest.

Little Feet!

You think it is the funniest thing when Daddy grabs your feet and says "poochie!". You laugh and laugh and laugh. Your laugh makes me smile so big Genevieve, it makes Mommy feel so happy when you laugh so loud. Every time I look at your feet I expect to see them the same size they were when you were born. I am always surprised how big they are!

Bumped your little head...

Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.3

Poor little Genevieve, you fell and bumped your head today. You didn't fall far but you ended up with a little lump on the side of your head. Daddy gave you ice cream and let you watch Dora, you were happy as could be. Don't start throwing yourself down though for the ice cream, mommy is a softie and will give you just a bit if your a good girl.

Monkeys, Gabba and More

For the first time you seem to be taking an interest in stuffed animals (or the more PC term is plush animals I think). Tonight you were taking George, Muno, Brobee, Foofa and the Sock Monkey all over the place. I tried to show you how to tuck them in but you weren't interested in that yet. Maybe one of these will become your favorite that you have to carry around everywhere?
