Halloween! Your 2nd Halloween and what a difference from last year! Last year I put you in your lobster costume, loaded you in the stroller and took off around the neighborhood. This year, you walked yourself house to house and held your own candy bucket. Weather was so nice outside and you loved walking up and down the street. You tripped a few times, never letting go of your candy bucket. All ready you know whats important on Halloween. After a trip up and down 3rd Ave, we went down to Grandma and Grandpas house so they could see you in your costume.

Earlier in the day Grandma Terri took you dressed up as a Hippie to your Fun with Your One in class. You look so cute dressed up matching together. You are lucky to have had three different costumes this year for Halloween.

Little Miss Photo Subject

Little Black Dress Photography needed some babies to take practice taking pictures on for some of their new photographers. Since you were such a good photo taker last time I signed you up! You were a little cranky but managed to give them good chance to practice their skills taking photos and trying to make you smile. Daddy did a great job entertaining you as well.

Mommy and Me Costume: Rosie the Riveter

Tonight Mommy's friend Kelli had a Halloween party at her house. Since your still unsure about your ladybug costume we went with your backup, Rosie the Riveter. We did a "mommy and me" costume and we matched perfectly! You didn't like the bandana much, but you left it on long enough for me to get a few photos. You enjoyed playing with baby Laural as well, you babies are only 3 months apart.

Genevieve 1st Birthday Necklace

For your 1st birthday Mommy wanted to get you something special. I looked for a perfect necklace for you since before you were born and finally found one! A “Sacred White Lotus” pearl necklace from National Geographic, fair trade certified. The lotus is one of your birth flowers for the month of July. It is very symbolic across many cultures.

Indian culture: It signifies prosperity, fertility and beauty.  It also signifies spirituality and eternity.  Lotus is the best flower found around the goddesses in the Hindu religion.  For instance, Laxmi, the Hindu goddess of prosperity is usually found sitting on fully blossomed lotus flower.

Egyptian culture: Represents rebirth and the sun. It’s also associated with various Egyptian legends that describe the sun. One of the legends holds that the sun emanated from the lotus flower while another legend holds that lotus itself rose from the ocean known as “Nun” in Egypt.  According to the legend, the lotus flower revealed the Egyptian god of sun when it blossomed.

Buddhism: Symbolizes purity and faithfulness in the religion. It also symbolizes spiritual awakening or spiritual enlightenment in Buddhism.  The rising of the Lotus flower from the mud and dirt of the water signifies spiritual progress in the religion.  From its roots in the mud, Lotus grows into the direction of light. This signifies man’s desire to rise in every area of life. Lotus therefore stands for the journey from darkness to the light of knowledge.

To me it means a beautiful birth, a beautiful baby and a bond between me and you for eternity. Being your mommy is so important to me, pregnancy was just the first step of a million mile journey with you. I can’t wait to see you grow and blossom and become your own flower Genevieve. I love you, I love you, I love you.

Miracle on Dave Street

Dave has done the impossible, he got you to wear your ladybug costume without crying! You even wore your Upland Firefighter hat with it. A firefighting ladybug, now that is an original costume! Dave came over to watch game 6 of the world series, a game daddy said maybe the best game he has seen in a really long time. Maybe you will be a ladybug for Halloween after all...

Transfer WAS NOT Succesful

Published with Blogger-droid v1.7.4

You always fall asleep in Mommy's bed and then Daddy transfer you to your crib. I get to be the "nudger" and Daddy gets to be the transferer. Most nights it goes ok, but some times the transfer is not successful. That means Mommy is back on baby girl  duty to get you back to sleep. Which is ok, but tonight you woke up in the middle of me getting my lunch ready. You had to wait for me to finish and you were NOT HAPPY. Poor thing, mommy got you back to sleep like only mommy can...

Cal Poly Pumpkins, Part II

We had to give the pumpkin patch a second go around because it was so hot and crowded last time we were there! Grandma brought you over to Mommy's work and you look so confused to see me at that time of the day. You had a great time running around the pumpkins while Mommy chased you with the camera. You loved picking up the pumpkins and you left the yucky ones alone, for the most part. Our visit was too short and Mommy had to go back to work. Bye bye to the pumpkin patch till next year Genevieve...

This month in Genevieve's book club we are reading "I Love you Through and Through". It was given to you from your Great Aunt Angela. She gave you the book at Mommy's baby shower. I love the book! We go through all the reasons how I love you you, your inside and your outside, your top side, your bottom side, your mad side and your quiet side. The last line is so sweet "I love you through and through, yesterday, today and tomorrow to". The pages are perfect for you to turn the pages for Mommy as I read you the story.

Sunday Brunch

Published with Blogger-droid v1.7.4

Today Grandma Diane, Adam and Judy and us went to brunch at Molly's Souper. The weather was so good, we ate outside on the porch. You were a really good girl and even ate good! The little girl dress you are wearing Grandma Diane bought you. You did a good job avoiding dropping food on it.

Bye Buy Baby

We have been using the same bottle of lotion and diaper rash cream since you were born. Now at almost 15 months old we finally used up the bottle. That is not bad at all! The "Earth Mama Angel Baby Bottom Balm" was so nice. Smelled nice, fixed you right up and had no yuck chemicals. The Burt Bees Baby Buttermilk lotion smelled so good. We are opening up the next bottle that we have had since before you were born, at this rate you will be 5 before we need to buy anything!

Mall time for Mommy

Published with Blogger-droid v1.7.4

Grandma Terri missed you from not seeing you all week and Mommy had to go to the mall, so it worked out perfect that Grandma babysat you! I went to the Victoria Gardens and bought some new work suits and you played and played at Grandmas house. By the time I got there, I nursed you for just a few moments and you were out! Transferred to the car and into the crib without walking up, you were one tired baby...

Such a Cutie!

Genevieve you looked so cute today! First you started off in your "jeggings" and Hawaiian print top. All you need was flip flops and you were ready for the beach! The weather cooled down so much, it was time for a night time sleeper for you. Mommy's friend Sarah gave this one to us, you looked so cute walking around the house in your footed pajamas. You were confused a bit by them at first, couldn't get traction under your knees, but once you figured it out you loved them.

Mommy's Heels

Genevieve you found my shoes! You loved clunking around the house tonight in my shoes. You loved the sound the shoes made when the heel tapped the ground when you walked. You couldn't get in them by yourself but you once I helped you in, you could go for a few minutes without falling out of them. I think you enjoy them a lot more then I do!

Nite Nite Genevieve

Published with Blogger-droid v1.7.4

Little Genevieve was tired tonight. Went to sleep at 6pm and pretty much slept till 7am the next day. About 10pm I realized I had no photo of you for the day. Daddy told me to forget it, but you stirred and it was time for a diaper change anyway. Poor thing cried and cried, so tired, but I got my photo for the day, although it was more painful then most days to get!
