Happy 2 month birthday!

Happy 2 month birthday Genevieve! I put you in one of my favorite outfits for you, your yellow "Hand Picked" outfit Aunt Teresa gave you. It is nice and long so you fit in it! It was hot and humid today so we didn't do to many photos outside. I finally got a good one of you smiling!! Grandma Terri e-mailed you (well me but it was for you) to say Happy Birthday! Can't wait to do your 2 month onesie outfit photos tomorrow...

Bumbo seat, part II

Well you are still getting the hang of your bumbo seat. When we first put in you, you can sit straight up, as time passes you ended up in the slump position you see above. I know it will be very soon that will be able to sit up all on your own, till then we will keep trying!

Imagine

Today you wore your John Lennon Imagine onesie. Conni gave us this cute outfit! It has lines from the song on the outfit. It is such a beautiful song I wanted to share the lyrics with you...

Imagine by John Lennon

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

108 Degrees?!?!?

Well it was forecasted and it came... it hit 108 degrees today. It was hot in the house (surprise?) and we were lucky enough to be able to go across the street to use the Berenson's pool. Once again you did not like the water, but you enjoyed lounging next to the pool  with your sunglasses on while we enjoyed the water. You were such a good baby and let us swim to our heart's content! A big thanks to Adam and Judy for letting us use their pool on hot days like today!

On Children....

In motion!

One of my favorite poems about babies and children...
On Children
 Kahlil Gibran
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might
that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.

Hand to mouth, hand to clothes

The other day you found your hand and now you put it in your mouth when your hungry. Well, you found your other hand and now you pull on your clothes with your left hand and suck on your right hand. Still trying to get you on video doing both at the same time!

Sweet sweet sleep

Published with Blogger-droid v1.5.9

All day long you fought, looks like you finally gave in! I was thinking back to your first couple weeks and how you hated settling down for sleep at night. We would swaddle you in a blanket, have to rock you and shhh you to sleep. When you finally gave in and stopped crying (about 5 minutes or so) you would sleep, well, like a baby. Now at night all it takes is your swaddler with the velcro (you are to strong and break out of just a blanket) and your pacifier. You fall asleep all on your own without fuss or crying and sleep for about a 4 to 5 hour block, wake up eat, sleep 3 hours, wake up eat, sleep another 3. We are lucky parents!

Watching the mobile go round and round...

Published with Blogger-droid v1.5.9

You love to watch your mobile go round and round! We love to hear you make so many happy noises as you watch spin and spin. Aunt Teresa got you the mobile as your shower gift and we have made good use out of it! Not only does it spin, it plays music and even has a light up monkey! You are very happy looking at till you realize we left you alone in the room, then you want us to come back in. Once we do you are happy again!

Someone found their fingers!

Published with Blogger-droid v1.5.9

It was only a matter of time...you found your fingers, only on your right hand though for some reason! You love to suck on them, trying to wedge as many as you can into your mouth at once. If you can't get to your fingers your wrist seems to work for you as well!

Bumbo Seat!

Published with Blogger-droid v1.5.9

You are holding up your head so good now a days I thought I would have you try your Bumbo seat. You seemed to like until you got hungry and then you lost interest in the seat and started sucking on your hand. You are becoming such a big girl! We will try the seat again tomorrow...

Sunday at Great Grandmas

Every Sunday daddy cuts the grass at Great Grandma Theresa house. We all go and visit while we wait for daddy to finish outside. Nita loves holding you and talking with you! Grandma and Grandpa Di Donato also came by so Grandpa could work on the backyard. As always the visit seems to short and we had to go, but we will go back next Sunday!

Grandma's Birthday

Today was Grandma's 39th birthday (just kidding, but it was Grandma's Birthday!). We went out to dinner with Grandpa Gil, Aunt Christi, Great Grandpa Fortune, Uncle Victor, Tia Mimi, Uncle Juan and the kids, Aunt Diane, Uncle Art, Tia Mary and Uncle Frank. Aunt Christi did a wonderful job organizing the dinner!

I finished up your baptism invitations today as well. They turned so very nice! I passed them out at the dinner to everyone that was there. I did a mini photo shoot of you in the morning so I would have the most recent photo of you to include in the invitations. You were such a good model! I got lots of good shots but this was the one I choose to use.

Daddy at a Dodger game so....

Published with Blogger-droid v1.5.9

Daddy went to the Dodger game and so it was just me and you for the night! I invited Grandma and Grandpa over for dinner so we wouldn't get too lonely. They hadn't seen you in over a week so they were happy to come over and see you. We made chicken for dinner and cheesecake brownies for dessert. Daddy wore his new Brooklyn Dodger jacket to the game and looked so handsome!

Please leave a comment!

Published with Blogger-droid v1.5.9

To all of our blog readers! At the end of the year I will "slurp" the book through Blurb.com into a bound book for little Miss Genevieve. It will have all the photos, text and comments people leave through out the year. So don't be shy! Leave a comment (or two, or three...) on our different posts though out the year. This way it is like a yearbook for Genevieve of her first year! Thanks so much!

Daddy back to work...

Published with Blogger-droid v1.5.9

It had to happen eventually, Daddy returned to work after being off for 6 weeks with us.I am so grateful that we got to spend those 6 weeks together. You have changed and grown so much in those 6 weeks and I would of been so sad to have him miss it. We got to spend lots of time together, do lots of fun things and just relaxed and recovered from your birth together. We will miss him so much during the day, luckly he is home by 3 so we don't have to go to long without him!

Published with Blogger-droid v1.5.9

Today was a busy day! We came back from Orange County in the morning, daddy and I had separate appointments for our Whopping Cough booster shots, a meeting with the Deacon at the church and the class for your baptism. It was a long day! Grandma and Grandpa Hernandez watched you when we went to the class at the church. After the class was over we all went out to dinner to Pizza and Such in Claremont. We had a wonderful time and Grandma and Grandpa loved watching you! We have your baptism set for October 9th at 2pm. Guess I need to get the invites out soon!

We had a wonderful night and are very grateful for Aunt Teresa and Uncle Scott coming to our hotel to babysit you. Here is where we have been over the years for our anniversary...

Honeymoon- Saint Thomas
1st year- Palm Springs
2nd year- Sacremento
3rd year- Bakersfield
4th year- San Jose
5th year- Orange County

Maybe Vegas or Phoenix next year, or maybe an airplane ride to somewhere?

Aubrey's Birthday Celebration

Today was Aubrey's 4th birthday party. It was perfect weather for a party in the park and there were several other babies there so you had to share all the o's and aws. The park was in Moreno Valley and had a very nice water park area to play in. You are to little of course, but it looked like so much fun to play in! In a couple years I can't wait to take you to the park to play!

After the birthday party we met our friends Andrew and Cathy Wendel at a festival at Saint Josephs Church in Upland. It was there first time meeting you and they loved you (of course!). There were all kinds of fun games to play, food to eat and of course Bingo to be played. It was a long day but a very fun day!

5 year Wedding Anniversary!

Published with Blogger-droid v1.5.3.1

Five years ago today Daddy and I got married. We had a wonderful wedding with friends and family. It was perfect weather and we had a wonderful time. I had such a fun time planning our wedding I started helping other brides plan their weddings to!

Grandma offered to watch you tonight while we went out to dinner to celebrate so we took her up on her offer. We dropped you off at Grandma and Grandpa's house and had a nice dinner at Red Lobster to celebrate our anniversary. Of course we missed you but we knew you were in good hands. More celebration this weekend in Orange County!

Dodger Stadium Tour

After years of saying we were going to do it, we finally did the Dodger stadium tour! We got to tour the stadium inside and out. We started the tour on the upper deck and made into the suite level. We got to walk through Vin Sucllys press box, see the view from a $7,000 luxury suite and see where the other half lives. We then went into the Dugout club, saw the World Series trophys and walked out on the field. They were setting up to film (so Hollywood!) so we couldn't get into the dugouts. Instead the tour guide let us into the bullpen and we got to go behind the scenes to the batting cages. We even got to take a peek into the clubhouse!

After the tour we went to Phillipes and got French Dip sandwiches. A quick stop at Olivera Street for some candy and we headed out of LA. Daddy needed to stop at KROQ to pick up some tickets he won and we were on our way home. It was a long day but a very fun day. Can't wait to take you to your first Dodger game!
