Monkeys, Gabba and More

For the first time you seem to be taking an interest in stuffed animals (or the more PC term is plush animals I think). Tonight you were taking George, Muno, Brobee, Foofa and the Sock Monkey all over the place. I tried to show you how to tuck them in but you weren't interested in that yet. Maybe one of these will become your favorite that you have to carry around everywhere?

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

You have started to become a little bit of a daredevil Genevieve. Tonight you were putting pillows on the floor, jumping on them and then pretending to sleep. You must have gotten the idea from Daddy who protects the floor around the ottoman with pillows. He has to do that because you keep launching yourself off, so all we see is baby feet flying in the area!

Ontario Library and Super Bowl

We needed to get out of the house and so something fun today so I took you down to the Ontario Library. I thought it would be a lot of fun to read books together. You thought it would be a lot of fun to take books off the shelf, leave them across the room and play on the computer. You were not interested in reading any kind of books together, you would slam the book shut and say "no, no" and "die die (all done)". We had a good time anyway, just not what I was picturing!

By the time we came home it was time to get the food started for the football game. Before long Great Grandaddy Fortune, Nana and Papa all came over and it was time for kickoff! You fell asleep during the half time show, which worked out great for Mommy because I actually got to eat my dinner with out stopping every minute to help you.

Babies, Babies, Babies

Every day, "Babies?", you love watching videos of yourself or other babies/dogs on the computer. You demand it almost it! We visited with Great Grandma Theresa today and Grandma Terri was there. Nita took you outside to play for a bit and you enjoyed taking apart the Russian doll and eating your cookie. Daddy was fixing a sprinkler and it took extra long so we got lots of good playtime in. You loved running around the backyard, picking up the rocks and climbing the stairs around the spa. You are really into Dora the Explorer right now, you point to the tv and say "Dora". You still like Yo Gabba Gabba but Dora is a very close second.

Fun in the Bath Water

You love baths lately because that means you get to play in the water! We don't probably give you a bath as often as we should but you love it when we do because you splash in the water, dump water out with your cup and enjoy playing with your bath toys. You get so excited when it is bath time but you are not excited to get your diaper back on or get your hair combed.

Music Class

From Grandma Terri today: 

 

At music class today we used scarves to play with and dance. Genevieve likes to put them on her head and look through the sheer material. You can also wave them to the slow music that is playing. The teacher gives out various instruments such as shakers, tambourines, and rhythm sticks. The children now know that when she goes to the shelves that they are going to get something and run to her. Genevieve is good about giving the instruments back at the end.

 

The teacher plays the guitar and sings as well as using recorded music. Genevieve likes "Jump down, pick  a bale of cotton." She is good at clapping along with the music.We have one more class next week.

 

Buddies at Ms. Nancys

I love photos of you during the day! Today Nancy sent me this photo of you and Zack together in the play room at Ms. Nancy's house. When we pass Zack's house in the morning up to Ms. Nancy's you now point and say "Zack". We are planning on inviting Zack over soon to play for an afternoon. What cuties!
