Whoops, Part 3
'Looking back over the last year, I realized I was 3 entries short of the 365 I should have. Turned out I missed blogging Nov 28, 29 and 30. So here they are, 8 months late, but still good!

Mt. Baldy Lodge
A few months ago on Groupon I got a good deal for lunch at the Mount Baldy Lodge. Being the "winter" day (77 degrees) that it was today I convinced Daddy we should go up for lunch. We left from Great Grandma's house and drove up the mountain. We had a nice lunch out on the patio, you kept entertained while we were waiting for our food by playing in the grass area. After we were done we went across the street to the Welcome Station. They have some neat exhibits outside and fun places to take photos in. Of course you don't pause for a moment (it seems like) so I am chasing after you with the camera all over the place. We had a fun afternoon, you fell asleep on the car ride home, we wore you out.

Yo Gabba Gabba Live
I decided to brave the crowds and took you to see "Yo Gabba Gabba Live! It's Time to Dance" at the Nokia theater in LA. We took the Metrolink to Union Station and switched to the Red Line Metro to 7th Street/Metro Station. We then walked about 3/4 of a mile, not to far, straight down Figuora to the theater. I haven't been in that area since they revamped it to "LA Live', it looks so good. We didn't have time for sightseeing though, I had no stroller and was carrying you in my chest carrier and you were getting heavy! I set you down so I could take off the carrier and off you went into the crowd. I had to chase you down, you really have no fear of other people! I managed to get a few pics by the Yo Gabba Gabba sign before we went inside.
I let you run around inside before the show so once it started you would stay seated. You kept trying to run into the mens restroom, you wore me out Genevieve! Mommy's friend met from work met us at our seats you got to meet her little boy Noah. You two looked so cute sitting on the chair together. It got started and did you love it! You loved the singing, dancing and seeing all the fun characters. During the second half you got a little bored with the show (is there such a thing as Yo Gabba Gabba overload?) but kept busy looking at all the kids and the lightsticks. You were back in though by the final number.
We walked back to the train and once we got to Union Station we had a little bit of time. I tried to get some photos of you by the tree but you were not in the mood.So tired from all the excitement. Once on the Metrolink you passed out and didn't wake up till we got home. A much easier train ride for mommy with you then on the way there.

Day with Daddy
Today you spent most of the day with Daddy because Mommy had booked a wedding in Pasadena. I left the house about 11:30 and by the time I got home you were sleeping. Daddy took you to the park today to play on the slides and you guys had chicken for lunch. Tomorrow Daddy is gone most of the day so it is Mommy day with Genevieve!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Your second Thanksgiving, your first with food! Last year you were stuck on an all milk diet. This year you got to have a little of everything. Uncle Jim, Uncle John, Great Grandma Theresa, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Teresa, Uncle Scott and Mommy and Daddy were all there to make sure you ate to your heart's content. After dinner it was time for a nap for you, nothing was making you happy. You slept in the car on the way home.

More Sleeping Time
SHHHHH----DON'T WAKE THE BABY
Author: Joyce Johnson
Don't wake the baby.
Oh what a sound!
There will be crying and tears,
And frustrated sighs.
It won't be hers.
They will all be mine.
Don't wake the baby.
I need the sleeping time!
Oh what a sound!
There will be crying and tears,
And frustrated sighs.
It won't be hers.
They will all be mine.
Don't wake the baby.
I need the sleeping time!

Soup with your hands
There was no convincing you to let Mommy help you eat soup tonight. It started off as my soup, then you wanted a taste, then you wanted to feed it to yourself, then you couldn't get soup still on the spoon into your mouth so you started using your hands. What a mess! Lucky for Mommy almost all of it stayed on the tray or your outfit. I think one or two peas made it in your mouth as well.

Typing Machine
You sure love to bang on the keyboard Genevieve. After a few "what the heck window did you just open" moments I finally found a way to let you play but still have access to my computer. I simply lock the computer so the blue screen with password box comes up. You bang and type and when I want to use it again, I just put the password back in. So much easier then shutting it off every time!

Molars are no fun!
Genevieve your teeth are finally giving you a problem. You were doing so good with the 3 molars but we went into slow down mode today. Back to teething behavior of fever, runny nose, cranky and can't sleep Genevieve. Daddy got you to go to sleep by rocking you but you would only stay asleep if you were on him or me. Hard to get anything done, but at least you are more comfortable.

Etiwanda Heritage Days
Today was a busy day! We met up with your godmother Lori and went over to Etiwanda Heritage's open house. The Chaffey Garcia house and several other historic properties were open for viewing. They also had crafts and games for kids. They had a free pony ride, but you did not like the pony. You cried "no, no, no" when I tried to put you on. Afterwards we decorated a gingerbread cookie (you somehow knew to eat the candy) and had chilli. Afterwards we met Grandma Terri at Victoria Gardens to try to see Yo Gabba Gabba characters but the line was so crazy! Sorry Genevieve, next time...

Iron test was not what I thought!
At your 12 month appointment the Dr. wanted you to take an iron test to make sure all your levels were ok. I kept forgetting about it and putting it off, well it is time to go back soon for your 15 month appt so I asked your Daddy to take you finally. After talking to a few friends with little ones they said it was just a heel stick type of test so I wasn't worried about it.
Daddy called me and said that it WAS NOT a heel stick. They took 2 viles of blood from your arm and he had to hold you down as you cried hysterically. He said his pants were wet with your tears, poor Genevieve! If I had known I wouldn't of had you do it. Once you were all done you got up and went straight to the door, time to get the heck out of that awful place.Daddy bought you french fries on the way home but you weren't interested. Poor Genevieve, Mommy is sorry.

Sleep time at Grandma Diane's
When Mommy came to pick you up tonight from Grandma Dianes you had just fallen asleep! You didn't want to sleep at Grandma Terri's house, so you fell asleep in the car on the way to grandmas house as Daddy was dropping you off. You were so tired you didn't wake up from the house, to the car, to the house! Grandma bought you this new sleeper to, you looked so cute!

It's that time again...
It is that time again Genevieve, where we clear out your old clothes and bring in the new clothes! Mommy can't seem to stuff you into the 9-12 month any longer, so I broke out all of your 12-18 month old clothes. The picture is all of your cute summer things going away. Sad, because next year you won't fit into them anymore! Lot's of warm winter things though coming your way!

Souplanation with Dave Night
Tonight we went to Souplantation with Dave. We haven't been in a while and we were overdue for a trip! You were a pretty good girl once you got settled into your high chair and I gave you some chicken to eat. You walked around the place like you owned for a while! I love you in this little sweater with the butterflys on it.

Lawn Care Supervisor: Genevieve
We went to Great Grandmas house today so Daddy could cut her lawn. She just went to sleep when we arrived so instead of waking her I took you outside to play. You enjoyed playing the backyard and front lawn. You supervised Daddy cutting the lawn for a while. You weren't afraid of the mower at all, I kind of wish you were, you were getting a little to close for mommy's comfort. Your favorite thing to do was to take the hose spray nozzle and pound the river rock in the backyard. I hope next week we get to visit with Great Grandma!

Graber Olive House
It is canning season at the Graber Olive House. I had done the tour once before but it was off season and it wasn't nearly as exciting as today when it was full of action. The use much of the same equipment since the 1920's. It is amazing to see! It is Ontario's oldest business, 113 years and counting. You weren't as impressed as mommy. You fell asleep half way through the tour in your carrier. You were tired... Mommy got some olives to give as gifts this holiday season after the tour was done.

Flip Video is Awesome!
Genevieve I love capturing you on the little Flip Video Camera Great Grandma got Grandma Terri. It is so easy to use and since it is so small I can "sneak up" on you. Often once you see the camera you stop doing what it was that was so cute and want to grab the camera. I don't have as much time as I want to edit and post the videos, but you do have a nice little collection of videos Genevieve for when you are older.

Hurricane Genevieve
The house was picked up and hurricane Genevieve came through! I saw a saying once that said "Cleaning the house while the kids are growing is like shoveling the snow while it's still snowing". I will go on record as saying I couldn't agree more! You love to empty drawers, take out toys/books and anything else out from where it belongs. You have such a good time, all I can do is watch and smile.

Cute Things Genevieve Does, By Grandma
She loves closing the garage. I let her push the button and when she sees
what she did she does a little happy dance in my arms. (I have to hold her to
reach it.)
She found a new game. She stood on the brick in front of the fireplace and
said "Bubble, Bubble." Then she stepped off as if it were a huge step and ran
across the room. Then she did it again and again and again.
When we were at the park today she fell down a few times. When that
happened she had gravel on her hand and put it out for me to brush off. After a
few times I told her to do it for herself and she did.
I let her use the old wooden step-stool/chair that was yours. She decided
that she needed to carry it around the yard just like she likes to carry the
bubbles and balls around. The problem is that the chair is very heavy and it was
hard to carry. I tried to help her for a while, but finally said let's put it
over here. She didn't complain too much. She also wanted to carry the two balls
and two bubble bottles around. She didn't have enough hands and I had to carry
the extra.
At Grandma's house I gave her a big cooking spoon and some pots to bang.
That was fun for a while. Then she wanted the Alphabits Grandma has for her. She
put them in the pot and tried to eat them with the big cooking spoon. For some
reason, they kept felling off.
Mrs. Johnson in her class uses a train whistle for a train song we do.
I found a train whistle that I used for school and blew it for her. She wanted
to do it herself, of course. She put it to her lips and made her version of a
train whistle sound without blowing.
We had fun. I am looking forward to seeing her next week.
