Overnight at Nana and Papas

Tonight was the first night you spent away from both mommy and daddy. We packed your bag and dropped you off at Nana and Papas. You were so excited to see them. You had a full day of activities planned with them, they took you to the fair, and lots of play time. We took off to Santa Monica for a night at Shutters on the Beach.

Before we got there we stopped in Venice, I can't believe I have been here my whole life and never have been there! We did a two hour bike tour, that was a lot of fun. A little bit of window shopping and it was time to head to Santa Monica. We parked the car and I got a late lunch from the original Hot Dog on a Stick location, yummy! Soon, Daddy took off to find a place to watch the USC game and I headed to the pool and then took a wonderful bath in the huge soaking tub in the room. When daddy came back we walked down to the pier and looked around. The last photo is the view from out hotel room, it was awesome!

Grandma and grandpas anniversary

Tonight we went to dinner at Magic Lamp in Rancho Cucamonga for Grandma and Grandpas wedding anniversary. Seems like every year we end up there for steak and baked potatoes. You were a good girl for most the meal and liked seating next to the window to see all the cars drive by, you really like the firetrucks and ambulances.

Earlier in the week I was able to go to the library at work and get an electronic copy of a photo of them from 1974 in the Cal Poly yearbook (yes, cal poly use to have a yearbook!).  Thought I would share it with everyone..

Grand Opening!

Tonight we went to the grand opening of Aunt Teresa's store in Rancho Cucamonga, Lulu Lemon. They had some food, lots of great people and of course lots of yoga clothes. You enjoyed running around the place, you even named the mannequins, Mommy and Daddy (weird how gender concepts are already so strong, even at age 2). We had a nice time and rushed home to make cookies for Ms. Nancy's birthday.

I like your shirt!

I got lots of compliments on my shirt today at work. When I walked in the door after work, you greeted me with the usual "Mama!" and running towards me, as I picked you up you said "I like your shirt mama". I swear I didn't even mention anything about my shirt. I guess it is just the wonderful, thanks for the compliment Genevieve!

Root Beer Float Social

Tonight we hosted a Root Beer Social for the neighborhood. Gino Fillipi (mayoral candidate) stopped by to say hello and talk with all of us about our concerns for the neighborhood (tree limbs, tree limbs, tree limbs!). We had about 20 people show up and enjoyed a beautiful rainbow to kick us off.

Earlier in the day when you were at Grandma and Grandpa's house you were trying to get the dog to play piano. You were very encouraging and told her "you try, you try". The beginning of a new band, you on vocals, the dog on piano! The dog was not very interested in playing though...

Step Stool

You just realized that the step stool we have for you in the bathroom works in other places to! It is perfect for helping you see out the window, or reach the table better. It is lightweight, and you are not afraid to take it where you feel it needs to go.

More parties!

Mama started off her day at a bridal shower for her friend Nicole (the one who was with me in the afternoon when I went into labor with you). Rushing from there, I rushed home, got you, and rushed off to Aubrey and Eric's birthday in Grand Terrace. Aubrey and Eric had a good time playing with you on a huge three level playhouse. You just went right up to the 3rd level, no need for mama. You are so daring Genevieve! They had a fun volcano cake that smoked and looked like it had lava coming out. 3 parties, 2 days, mama is tired!
