Game Time

Genevieve is making Mommy do 52 card pickup! I think it is time to move the games to a higher shelf, it is to exhausting! I am surprised this cute onesie that Christi got for you still fits you! I am moving out all of your 6-9 month clothes and moving in all of your 9-12. This one will get to stay a bit longer! I am hoping you will stay in the 9-12 month clothes until October when the weather starts to change. You have so many cute summer clothes to wear.

Party is less then 2 months away!

Genevieve your birthday party is less then 2 months away! So much to do before now and then! Most importantly I need to get moving on the invitations and get those out by the end of the month. I placed an order with Oriental Trading Company for some things for the party and Grandpa Gil is working on a sign for you. Next up is to finalize the menu and make the rest of the decorations. How will I ever get it all in?!?!?

Costco lunch time!

Published with Blogger-droid v1.6.8

Mommy was still so tired from the past week (you haven't been a good sleeper!!). Today we took two naps together and had lunch at Costco with Daddy. I hope I am not coming down with something. I hope you sleep better next week Genevieve, you are slowing killing me with your nighttime acrobatics that wake both you and me up.

Graduation

Tonight I worked the graduation ceremonies for my department at school. I came home in teh early afternoon but had to leave to go back, you weren't very happy! As I was registering all the kids for the ceremony I couldn't help but think about you in about 22 years from now graduating from college. Of course I think UC Berkeley would be perfect for you but would be open to SFSU as well if you prefer to go through the CSU system! You can go any where you want Genevieve but I want to have a good time and enjoy college life. There is truly no other time like it in your life. Looking at all those kids starting out on their way to adulthood made me realize you will be there before I know it... Till then I am enjoying you being a baby!

I used Scott's lens again and got some really great up close photos using the lens. Helen Gavin, who was my faculty mentor this year was also at the graduation ceremony. It was perfect weather for the graduation and I can't wait to go to bed, so tired!!

Guest Blogger: Daddy

Published with Blogger-droidH

Hello everyone its GTL's daddy.. Well Genevieve i pick you up everyday at around 315 or so, (give or take) since the end of October.. I use to pick you up in your carrier for a few months, every time i picked you up i felt like i was doing forearm lifts you were so heavy. now i pick you up and i just carry you, but there's a problem.. a few months ago you didn't care if it was me picking you up, NOW every time i saw you at Miss nancy's house you'd cry cause you didn't want to leave. do you really have that much fun?? but as soon as we walk out the door you forget about the whole thing and your happy again. But your starting to get heavy and the crying is getting old.. who do you think you are? a baby..?! so i decided to bring your wagon up one day and throw you in it.. and what do you know.. the crying has stopped.! YAEH!!! know you love the wagon ride home, i put you in it and you hold for dear life but your all smiles on the walk home. but im very careful on turns, cause one time i was puling your aunt Christi and BOOM! the wagon tipped on its side and she went rumbling out in her osh kosh bagosh and a little sandle flying in the air.. it happened many times though, just ask her.. but its my favorite thing to do now, pull you on your little red wagon... Until you stand up on it then it goes to the salvation army.. Love you baby girl..!

Celebrity Quotes on Babies...

"It was a powerful experience. I never felt so vulnerable but so strong at the same time. It was amazing to experience my body become free to do what it was made to do by allowing my mind and my body to let go and be free to experience the changes taking place within… I was just there… focusing on my breathing and relaxing the best that I could… so present, to witness the biggest miracle in my life happen before my very own eyes. To give life to another being, what a gift!" - Gisele Bündchen

"I think the ultimate message is that for those that want to have a natural birth; there are ways to do it successfully and healthily. It is beneficial to the mother and the baby. I refuse to give in to a set of beliefs that makes women afraid of their bodies and birth." -Mayim Bialik

"I had a very wise doula and midwives giving me the freedom to continue living my life. I didn't have to uproot myself… Maybe to some it's scary, but preparation is the whole key. When a mother has found out she's going to have a baby, her whole life — her diet, her mood, her energy — should kind of prepare her. After she prepares herself, fear is never a part of it. I expected success and health, so I made sure I surrounded myself with it. By the time I had my third baby, childbirth seemed a very natural part of life to me.” -Erykah Badu
