Welcome to Genevieve's life!

Welcome to Genevieve's blog! My goal is to post a photo everyday to remember and document just how fast she is growing up. We don't want to miss anything!

CPP Strawberry Festival, Mt SAC Farm Day and Aquanatal Picnic

What a busy day we had! We started off at the Cal Poly Pomona Strawberry and Tractor Festival. Grandma Diane went with us and we had a good time looking around at the animals, tractors and the farm store. We even got to meet Billy Bronco! You were such a good model for the camera, I love the photo of you by the tractor wheel.

Next stop was Mt. SAC farm day. Daddy meet us at CPP and we headed up to Mt. SAC. They had all kinds of animals on display. The cutest was the baby goats. If you were a little bigger I would have loved to get you in with the goats, but you are still to little. After looking at the horses, cows, pigs, goats, etc. we headed to our next stop, Aquanatal Mothers Day picnic.

We took the 71 down to Chino and joined Lynn, Joyce and some of the other Aquanatal families for a picnic. It was so much getting to know some of the other families and meeting there little babies that were born at the birthcenter, just like you were! You would think that would have been enough fun, but after heading home we went out to Fontana to visit Julia and baby Alex. It was a busy day today!

Park and 9 month photos

Tonight Daddy and I took you to the park right near our house. You had a good time swinging on the swing and going down the slide with Daddy. You were in a pretty good mood so I got some good photos of you on the grass as well! Since you were doing so good I thought I would get your 9 month onesie photos in as well. This month you didn't try to climb out of the chair like you you did last month, thank you!

I got two early Mother's Day gifts today as well! Nancy sent flowers and a little poem (I am sure you help wrote it!) and Lori dropped off a card. Looking forward to a busy day tomorrow!

From sad to happy in the blink of a dinosaur

Genevieve these photos were taken just minutes apart! You were having such a fit because we wouldn't let you crawl behind the chair. I pulled over your dinosaur and you held on and were so happy walking across the room holding on to it. It was like nothing had ever happened! You use to never cry but now it seems like every time you don't get your way you have a little crying fit. I hope you break this habit soon because it is getting old fast Genevieve!

Today you had a doctors appointment.  You were 20 pounds, 29" long and had a 17" head! You are getting to be so long Genevieve, I knew it wasn't my imagination! You only got one shot, next time you are in for a whole round of shots, I feel so sorry for you Genevieve. I hate needles and I can't imagine they are much fun for you either.

Before I was a Mom

Before I was a Mom

I never tripped over toys
Or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
My plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
And my thoughts.
I slept all night.

I never held down a screaming child
So doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
Watching a baby sleep.

I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
When I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
Could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.

I didn't know the feeling of
Having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
To feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
Between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
Could make me feel so important and happy.

I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
Every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
The joy,
The love,
The heartache,
The wonderment
Or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
Before I was a Mom

Gardening with Grandma

Published with Blogger-droid v1.6.8

Today when I came to pick you up from Grandmas house you guys looked like you were both out there pulling weeds! Grandma put you to work Genevieve! Just kidding, but you were having a great time crawling around on the grass and exploring how the grass feels in between your fingers, the moisture of the ground on your knees and how to move on this new surface. As soon as you saw me walk up and crawled right towards me and stood up on my leg, how sweet! I missed you to Genevieve...

Fort Genevieve, V.2

The forts we have to construct for you are getting taller, more secure and larger! This is the fort daddy made up for you to protect you from your adventurous spirit so you wouldn't go crawling off the bed. Pretty soon your crib will be your only option!

Lemon Festival in Upland and Romance of the Rancheros Workman House

What a fun day outside to enjoy the beautiful weather! We started the day with a trip back up to the Lemon Festival to get a few photos of you in the lemon cut outs (why do I like those so much!!). We then met up with Lauren and her family at the Workman house in City of Industry for their Romance of the Rancheros event. They had so much going on and we had a great time. We even got to see Pio Pico's grave!

Even though it was a good turn out it didn't feel super crowded. Lauren was nice enough to do several photos of the two of us and they turned out great. I did a couple family photos for them as well, the setting was perfect!
