Halloween 2012

After much hype, Halloween is finally here. You loved running up and down the street, looking for houses to trick or treat at. You were so excited every time you got candy in your bucket. We stopped at lots of neighbors houses to say hello. After we were done we stopped by Nana and Papas house for some special treats. We made it back in time to hand out some candy to some last minute trick or treaters.

Winter Boots

I had these winter boots tucked away because they are two sizes to big on you. You got into your closet and pulled them at,  put them on and loved walking around the house with them. We also have a matching snow suit, good thing you didn't find that!

Just for Twos

Today Mommy got off early and got to take you to your Just for Twos class. You had a Halloween party, lots of spooky snacks to eat and fun costumes. You did not want to wear your spider costume so you stuck with your cute candy corn shirt. I love when I get to spend extra time with you!

Boo at the Zoo

The Santa Ana Zoo held their Boo at the Zoo, it was so much fun! Lot's of great trick or tricking around the zoo, animals to see and fun to be had. We had a Mommy and Me costume of Where's Waldo together, I even sewed the hats myself! The weather was beautiful and we had such a good time.

Live Oak Canyon Pumpkin Patch

Today Aunt Christi and I took you to the Live Oak Canyon Pumpkin Patch. It was a beautiful pumpkin patch with lots of pumpkins and lots of great photo opportunities. You were a good girl and let Mommy take lots of nice photos of you. We will go back to see the Christmas trees in December.

Mommy's Home!

Mommy made it back from her trip, you were so happy to see Mommy! It was the longest I had ever been away from you and did I miss you. Lot's of time together this weekend, ok Genevieve!

Guest Blogger: Grandma Day 2

On Thursday you woke up again happy and ready to play. We continued playing hide and seek and I had to look all over the house to find you. I found out you like the little frozen mini-pancakes and I put three of them together for a "Mickey Mouse" pancake. We went to the park that is by Deer Canyon School, one of the schools your mom attended. We found two friends there and you had a good time playing chase, going down the slides, and playing restaurant with Rachael.

 

You tried on your Halloween costume and you loved it for about five minutes. After that, no way were you going to put it on again. We went to the library class without the costume and met Brooklyn there. You enjoyed sitting with her and listening to the stories that had a Halloween theme.

 

The new game at Grandma's house it school. You are the teacher and you sit on the couch. The stuffed animals and I sit in a row in front of you. You say "Good morning friends." Then you write things in your notebook and say the days of the week. After that you read a book and ask the animals and me "What is this?"  I had the animals answer some of the questions. Sometimes I got to be the teacher, but you were enjoying it too much to let me have much of a chance.

 

Daddy came for you and you were happy to go home with him. It was a lot of fun to have you over. Now I need a rest.

 

Grandma

Guest Blogger: Grandma Day 1

You spent the night with Grandma on Tuesday because Mommy had to go to a conference very far away from here and Daddy has to go to work very early.  I decided it was easier to have you spend the night then drive down to your house at 5:30 in the morning. You went to sleep on Tuesday without any problem and woke up with a smile in the morning on Wednesday.

 

We had chance to eat breakfast, get dressed and play for a while before your class in Upland. You didn't want to leave the house because you were enjoying what you were doing, but we went anyway and had a good time in class. We made a bag for your Halloween party next week and "Trick or Treating" in class.

We came home and you had fun playing outside the with water, bubbles, chalk, swinging, building with sticks and leaves, and going for a walk. Grandpa watched you for a little while and Grandma went to the gym to exercise.

 

Later on we went to Grandma's friend's house to visit and see her guinea pig. You had fun feeding Chestnut

and playing hide and seek with him. Fatemeh gave you some spaghetti that you enjoyed and then you asked for more. You were very comfortable at her house and went exploring all the rooms, invited or not invited in.

Bedtime went smoothly again and you fell asleep all night long.

Grandma Terri

Bye Bye Mommy

 

Mommy left today for her trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico.  We all got up early and Daddy dropped Mommy off at the airport. You were not happy about waking up so early, that is for sure! Mommy will miss you while I am gone but I know Daddy and Grandma will take good care of you.

Potty Time

Yea, you did it! You went pee in the potty, and just like we promised we took you to Chuck E. Cheese to celebrate. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you Genevieve!

Pink Cowboy Boots

Forget your red and white sandals, it is all about your pink cowboy boots right now. You love to wear them, you don't even want to take them off around the house! Guess I made a good purchase...

Cal Poly Pomona Pumpkin Patch

It was your 3rd Cal Poly Pumpkin patch this year. Last year it was more appropriate to wear tank tops and flips flops, this year jackets and rain boots! Although it was a little misty out we managed and you had a great time. Your favorite part was "climbing the mountain" a hill and holding my hand as we came down. You also liked the "jungle" we drove through on the bus from the main parking lot. It was crowded as always but not unmanageable.

After we were done we headed to the Rancho Cucamonga Library for their big trucks day. We got there just as the trucks were pulling away, but you got to see them all drive off. We played in the library for a while and then we went to your request, Taco Bell for lunch. You ate good and were a very good girl at lunch. 

Brittany's Babysitting Service

Tonight Brittany babysat you while Mommy and Daddy went to the movies. You were so happy to see Brittany, and enjoyed playing with her. While we were gone Brittany got you to eat the rest of your dinner, sit on the potty twice without screaming and go nite nite before 10am by having you just lay down on your bed and telling you to close your eyes. I feel like I should fire myself and put Brittany in charge from now on. Glad you were a good girl but how about spreading some of that my way to?

Fish Fry

Papa went fishing yesterday and caught a bunch of fish. He invited us down for a fish fry. You even ate fish! I had salad and a potato but you and Daddy loved the fish. Your shirt even smelled like fish after we left! You always like trying on Nana's sun glass collection, not one at a time though, all at once. You looked so silly.

Baby Diaper Change

The baby needed a diaper change, and no I am not talking about Genevieve. You insisted on changing the babies diaper, saying that she pooped. I brought the changing pad down so you could reach, you wiped and put a diaper on her. What a good mommy!

Daddy Hugs

When I went to take your photo for today you insisted on taking it with Daddy. You hugged and kissed Daddy over and over until I got a shot that you approved of. You made Daddy feel special!

Pumpkin Patch with Daddy

Today you got to go to a pumpkin patch with Daddy with Ms. Johnson's class in La Verne. You liked the pumpkins but you were more impressed with the port a potties and the chocolate slide (brown slide). Daddy bought you a Genevieve sized pumpkin and you were a good girl. You get to go back with Grandma on Wednesday.

Happy Birthday Great Granddaddy!

It was your Great Grandaddy's 84th birthday today and you had a fun time helping him celebrate at Nana and Papas house. You went early with Daddy while Mommy volunteered with the Claremont Home Tour. By the time I got there you had already entertained Danette, George, Eron, Christi, Daddy, Nana and Papa with your tea parties, running around and playing. You helped Great Grandpa eat lots of cake and celebrate in style.

Fire House Open House

Upon the recommendation of Ms. Johnson we visited the Rancho Cucamonga Jersey Station Open House. It was a lot of fun. They had a helicopter, fire trucks, ambulance, police car, and lot's of fun games an activities to play. You enjoyed looking around and seeing all the big trucks. We even ran into Ms. Johnson on the way out. Afterwards we dropped you off at Grandma's house and you went to Brooklyn's brothers birthday party. Mommy took a nap (so nice!) and caught up on some sleep.

A new place to hide

You branched out from your one and only hiding place and found a new one, behind the curtain. You seemed to not realize that about 3/4 of you stuck out, but you had a great time hiding from you. I looked and looked for you before you would pop out and say surprise. This is why I don't buy you toys, you prefer the curtain over toys.

Rain Rain

Our first rain of the season and you looked very stylish for it! You are finally agreeing to weat shoes that are not your sandals and good thing, because you needed your Yo Gabba Gabba shoes today. You spent the day with Grandma and had a great time, as always, playing with the dog. You watched over you while you took a nap this afternoon, I think you guys like each other.

Time for wash!

You love climbing in the laundry basket and having me push you around the house. You wanted me to climb in but I told you I wasn't going to fit, I am not sure if you believed me or not.

Story Time

Even though you can't read, it doesn't stop you from making up your own stories while flipping through the book. You describe the characters (boy, girl, dog, bird) and their emotions (sad, happy) and where they are (outside, school, house) as you flip the pages. I love listening to your stories Genevieve!

Picture Limit

I might have reached my picture limit with you Genevieve. You have been covering your eyes and saying "no picture, no picture" lately when I reach for my camera. Hope you get over it soon, because I am going to keep taking them, even if you keep covering your eyes!

Helping Mommy

Your new favorite thing to do is to help Mommy in the kitchen. You found the step stool and is the perfect height for you to get up to the counter to help me cook. You like to stir (I try myself!) and help put the ingredients in. It is fun to see you be such a big girl, I just need to budget extra time to get the cooking done now.

Debate Night

It was debate night, not Obama/Romney debate, Stewart/O'Reilly debate. We had a few friends come over and we had a yummy dinner of pulled pork and political themed food. You had lots of fun with Baby Alex and Baby Audrey. You all played very nice together and shared toys. You were especially happy to see Baby Alex because you see her at Ms. Nancy's house during the week but never at our house. What a fun night, and the house got clean.
