Happy 1 1/2 birthday!

Happy 1 1/2 birthday to my beautiful baby girl! We hadn't seen Dave in a while and instead of the usually Souplantation trip we tried something different, Wing Nuts in Ontario. Turns out Fred, his brother and girlfriend were all in the area as well and joined us for dinner. You loved walking around the place and playing with the cardboard coasters. It was fun, but nothing beats Souplantation!

So Tall!

Mommy got tired of holding you up to the sink so you could play with the water so I got you a little step. It is just high enough that you can reach the water and be happy playing and saves Mommy's back from holding you up for 20 minutes at a time. Mommy had to show you how to use it but once you realized what you could do with it, you were off! You looked so cute in your overalls today. Aunt Teresa and Uncle Scott stopped by to say hello to you as well today. It was nap time so I couldn't get a photo of you without you crying, but it turned out cute just that same.

Fun with Emma and Abby

Today on our walk up and down the street Emma and Abby were outside playing catch.Of course you stopped to say hello and play with the girls. The girls pulled out all the flamingos and made a flamingo family for you to play with. We then picked flowers from our yard and the girls decorated the flamingo's with the flowers and you tried to "ride" one of them. Zack was sick so he couldn't play but you were yelling his name at the door.

Pizza Pizza

Tonight we went up to San Biagio's Pizza off 19th in Upland for a yummy pizza dinner. Pizza, salad and soda, it doesn't get better then that! You even had a baby sitting behind us that kept you occupied for a while. You ate lots of crust, cheese off the salad and a little chicken that Mommy brought from home. I highly recommend San Biagio's for yummy new york style pizza! 

Grandma Terri Reporting

Today Grandpa watched you for a little while so Grandma could go to the gym. We played with your car and had a crash. I wish you had an airbag! You put your feet down and stopped the car, but I kept pushing. I am so sorry! It only took a minute to recover and off you went again in the car.

Next we had your family music class. It went better this week. I think you are the most adventurous one there. You don't mind not sitting with Grandma and went off to dance in circles around Michael and his mom. You enjoyed the tambourine, the shakers, the balls, rhythm sticks, and especially the scarf. Singing "ba ba ba" was not something you were going to do. Also it was funny at the class when we did a song that involved running and jumping, and then the song said to go to sleep. I told Genevieve night-night time and she said "no" and got a little worried. It's just pretend--and she was OK as long as I didn't really make her go night night.

We also went for another train ride and carousel ride at Victoria Gardens. It wasn't quite as exciting as the first time, but you enjoyed it anyway. After some lemonade to share we were off to Grandpa and Grandma's house. You fell asleep on the way back and it was a perfect time for a nap.

Grandma Terri

Sleep!

Your tooth is really taking a lot out of you. Tonight you wanted "milk, yea!" about 8:15 and konked out. It was a nice break for mommy and you got a good night's rest. You sure look big in your crib Genevieve, where did my little baby go to?

Headed to Ms. Nancys

Sometimes in the morning you are happy and then there are days like today. You are getting a new tooth so that is bothering you. I had to wake you up and you were not happy. I put the turtleneck on you today so I could put your amber necklace on you to help with your teething and so you wouldn't mess with it. You did not want to put your shoes on and you did not want me to set you down. It made for quite a morning...

Call, Call

Genevieve you love to "call" on the phone. Cell phones, house phone, toy phones, what ever it is you love it. You like to hold the phone to my ear and say "call" which means it is my turn to talk on the phone. You then take the phone away from me and usually hold it to your ear and say "hello, ok, ok, ok, bye". We must be on the phone more then we think for you to imitate us like that!

Mt Baldy

Today Nana and Papa watched you while Daddy and I did our once a month date. I had a groupon for a ride on the ski lift and lunch at the Top of the Notch Restaurant in Mt. Baldy. With it being so warm lately there was only the manufactured snow at the top but it was nice because it wasn't to cold, wet or crowded! Mommy will be heading back up there soon to go tubing (another GroupOn!). I am glad we didn't bring you, the lift chair would have been to scary to have you on, just a little bar to prevent you going off the side!

Chino Youth Museum

Today we did a family outing to the Chino Youth Museum. This time we bought the year membership so we can take you back as many times as we want to play. Mommy is also thinking about having your birthday party there as well. You had a good time opening and shutting the doors, playing on the slide and moving the beads around. I thought you would be wiped out and sleep on the way home but the smell of french fries caught your interest and you kept asking for "more" as we drove home.

Funny Outfit

Well I guess you made a mess all over your outfit today at Ms. Nancy's house and she dressed you in your "spare" outfit, a Nightmare Before Christmas onesie. Pair that with your new balance shoes and mommy's necklace you looked pretty silly this afternoon Genevieve! Kind of like a hip hop rapper, of course still cute as ever!

Lunch with Grandpa

When there is food around you are always very interested in what is going on! Lunch with Grandpa is no exception. You always go over to investigate to see if there is anything of interest for you. You usually find a thing or two that peaks your curiosity!

Hawaii here we come!

We are headed to Hawaii in June, we are so excited! The hotel keeps dropping in price (yea!) and the airfare, well it is expensive but that is what it is. I hope you get over your fear of the beach because Hawaii will not be much fun with you crying all the time! We will have to start with the pool and work our way up to the sand. Still have to plan all of our activities but waiting to see who will be joining us before we plan anything.

Gaga

You sure do love your Gaga! I don't know how toothbrush became gaga but you ask for it every single day and love walking around the house with it. I bought you your own "gaga" but you prefer mine. Which would be ok, but when your done with it you throw it on the floor and walk away...

MLK Day 2012

Another day at home resting, Mommy actually broke down and made a Doctor's appt, you know it is bad when I did that! Well, a easy day at home today. Daddy took you to the park while I caught up on things at the house. You got all wet because the equipment was still wet from the drizzle last night. You had a good time, you even went down the big kid slide all by yourself. Now your taking a nice long nap and Mommy got to update the blog. What a sweetie!

Toilet Paper Fun

Even though my adventurous spirit is a little on the downside right now, that doesn't mean you can't have fun! After a fantastic breakfast of briskets and gravy, bacon and eggs you took a nap about noon. Uncle Denny's daughter Carrie was taking Nirel shopping so I tagged along. We weren't gone to long but when you woke up and Mommy wasn't there I guess you thought it was your chance for play time! Angela was listening for you but you slipped quietly out of bed, into the bathroom and started unrolling all the toilet paper! They only reason you didn't get to do the whole roll is because you were laughing so loud, Angela came right over and caught you! You were a very good baby all weekend, Mommy let you watch way to much TV and have to many cookies, but isn't that what vacation is all about?

Viva Las Vegas!

Well rest and relaxation are great but life moves on if you feel good or not! We were in Vegas for the weekend (till Sunday) and Mommy tried to make the best of it. Well you took a nap at Aunt Angela and Uncle Denny's house I took Nirel to the Neon Boneyard. We took way to many pictures that I won't bore you with here and had a great time driving around a little lost in a somewhat questionable neighborhood near Fremont Street. We got there late but they let us in anyway (thank goodness!) and we had a great time learning the history of Las Vegas and seeing some really cool neon signs. Afterwards we had a family dinner where Angela made a wonderful lasagna dinner.  I tried to be in good spirits but this cold is kicking my butt still! Quick turnaround, headed home tomorrow night!

Rest and Relaxation

It has been a long time and Mommy still is not feeling 100%. I took today off of work to rest (and go to the Dentist). You went up to Ms. Nancy's for a bit in the morning so Mommy could take a shower and then off to Grandma and Grandpa's while I went to the dentist. I hope I feel better soon!

"More Baby"??

You are getting so good at putting two words together! Lately you have been dragging me over to the computer (by the finger) saying "go". Then you tell me to "sit" in the chair. Then you point to the computer and say "more baby". You want to watch videos of yourself on the computer! When you are tired of a video you say "bye", if you like it and it's over you say "more". Mommy is going to put them together on a DVD for you so at least we can sit on the couch and watch instead of on a hard wooden chair. Mommy is so glad I have the Flip Video from Grandma and Great Grandma Teresa to record so many fun videos for you to watch!

So sleepy!

It never gets old falling asleep on Mommy! I love when you fall asleep eating and conk out on my leg. I love smelly your little milky breath, the way your little lips pout, how you catch your breath, your warmth and your baby stretch. After a year and half (almost) of having you, this is still my favorite thing for us to do together, you sleep and Mommy watch you. I love you Genevieve.

Fun Day with Grandma

Today you got to spend a fun day with Grandma and Grandpa! You went on the train, merry-go-round, and played at the playground by the food court at Victoria Gardens. Grandma said at first she cried about the carousel, but then when it started you liked it. On the train you had one ride and it was over. You got out, but then you said "More" got in again and said "door" and "shut". Grandpa took you for your next ride.

That's not Reindeer!

The newest addition to our holiday library is a fun touch and feel book from Mommy's friend Wendy. You love to touch and feel the "dog" in the book. The first picture is when Mommy told you no more, because we had read it about 7 times in a row. Of course we ended up reading it a 8th and 9th time as well.

Sunday Sunday

Another day and we are still not feeling 100%! This is going almost 2 weeks worth of lot's of yuckiness. I can't wait to feel better finally! I realized today that I never put you in dresses! You have so many cute ones, but it never occurs to me when I get you dressed in the morning as an option. Today the weather is still so nice I put on this nice dress Grandma Terri made for you. You look so cute in it! The red socks and converse really make the outfit though! You are taking a nice long nap right now so I was able to take down the Christmas ornaments, update the blog and clean up a bit, thank you Genevieve!

Charlotte's 4th Birthday

Today was Charlotte's 4th birthday. They live in Long Beach so we headed down a bit early so we would make it in time. It was a surprise party, per the request of the birthday girl! In there backyard they have a little putting green, you and the other babies had such a good time with the clubs (scary for the mommy's) and the balls. You ate a lot for lunch, salami, crackers, berries, grapes, juice and lots of frosting off the cake. We had such a good time celebrating with Charlotte, Yvette, John and Tre!

Baby Laptop

For Christmas Aunt Christi got you a baby laptop. It makes lot's of noise and has little characters come across the screen, you love it! You can play games on it to but they are for older babies. Until then you love pressing lots of buttons and carrying it around the house. Usually you leave it right in the middle of the floor for us to trip on, but you don't mean to. You just get excited about the next thing and leave it in the middle of your thought.

Trip to Target

Daddy took you to Fresh and Easy today and you were such a good girl in the cart for him. I thought I would give you a chance and take you to Target with me tonight. Well, you must of used up all the sit still time you had earlier in the day because you were all over the place. You wanted to "walk, walk, walk, walk" and you told me many many times as I tried to carry you to different parts of the store to get what I needed. You loved walking around and every time I had to get you moving to a different section of the store you looked at me like "why mommy are you ruining the fun i am having?". You loved taking things off the shelves, looking at the greeting cards (you really liked the ones with dogs on them) and picking up items you thought we needed. If we had bought off your list we would have ended up with 10 dog birthday cards, a Elmo coloring book, a plantain, 3 boxes of hair dye, floor cleaner, a training bra, athletic socks and a wide variety of assorted homeopathic medications. Good thing we stuck to Mommy's list!

Very Yo-Ga Christmas

It was a very Yo Gabba Gabba Christmas for you Genevieve! You got Yo Gabba Gabba books, two backpacks, three stuffed characters, a CD, bath squirters and undies! I hope you continue to like Yo Gabba Gabba for a while because with this much stuff, mommy says you have to! We got a little box called Roku for Christmas which streams Netflix to our TV. It is great because you can watch the first two seasons of Yo Gabba Gabba on the big screen instead of through the iPad. Also that way we aren't always stuck with the same 4 episodes that are On Demand on Verizon Fios.

Roving Reporter

Reporting from Grandma Terri's house: 

Genevieve didn't want to use her high chair. She wanted to sit in the chair and eat. She can almost do it.

She was good all day (almost), and took a one hour nap. I used the swing to settle her down and then held her for about 15 minutes.

I heard her put two words together today for the first time (for me anyway). I could see that she was "pooping" and she said "poop." I repeated it and said we needed to change her diaper. She said "No poop." I changed her and she didn't like it. She had it on her foot, arm, clothes. I had to carry her at arms length to the bathtub to clean her up while she cried. Then when it was all over she went to the closet to get her bathtub and asked for a bath. She played in the bath and had a good time. 

We did have a good time today.

New Years Day, Part II

It seems like an extension of yesterday because finally today was the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game. We were happy for the extra day off as well! Again we didn't much today because we are still not feeling good. I hope this goes away soon, sitting around the house waiting to feel good is not much fun! You were trying to take Mommy's picture I think with the camera in the last shot. I guess you decided to turn the tables on me after all the pictures I take of you!
