Happy 1/2 birthday Genevieve!

 

From Grandma.... 

 

Today we went with Brooklyn, Gage, and Brenda to Knott's Berry Farm. You had a good time playing with Brooklyn in the backseat as we drove to Buena Park. It wasn't crowded at all at Knott's Berry Farm and we got to go on all the rides without waiting in lines. We spent most of our time in Camp Snoopy. There were a few rides that you were too short to go on and Brooklyn (who is six months older) was able to go on. You didn't complain however.You waited with me while Brooklyn had her fun. Brooklyn likes to be little mother sometimes and she told you to stand in front of the sign to see if you were tall enough to go on the ride. She said, "You're good." and took your hand to go on the airplane ride. 

 

In Camp Snoopy there was a camp bus ride that went around in circles, a spinning ride, a truck ride, a bouncer, a race car ride, and a hot air balloon ride. You were great with all of them and had lots of fun. The race cars and the airplanes were your favorites.You didn't like the Calico Mine ride too much. It was dark in places. After that we went on the train and you kept asking me "Is there a cave?" I assured you there were no caves on the train ride and you were happy. We had lunch in the birthday section of the Camp Snoopy restaurant. We sang happy birthday to all of you. I had forgotten it was your 2 1/2 birthday, but you did get your song anyway.

Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Linus, and Lucy were there. At first you were too afraid to get close, but at the end you gave Snoopy a big hug. We also got to see all of them in a show at Camp Snoopy. 

 

We went on the stage coach and got to sit on top with the driver. You were hoping for the horses to go poop, but unfortunately they didn't cooperate.

 

After a day of rides, food, and fun we headed home when the park closed at 6:00. You, Brooklyn and Gage fell asleep all the way home. You slept though the night for your mom and dad too. What a good girl!

 

 

Grandma Terri

Colored Jeans

You are in with all the hip trends Genevieve. Grandma got you these very fashionable colored jeans to wear. You were all shades red today, red shoes, magenta jeans, and purple top.

Cookbooks

Mommy had the cookbook out and you wanted to look through to find a cookie recipe (go figure!). This is the same cookbook Grandma has that I grew up eating food out of. I found a copy at a yard sale and use it to make recipes here at home now. It is amazing for even 30 years can change so many ingirendts for the same food (butter vs. vegetable oil).

Doing the dishes

Tonight you loaded all your ducks in the sink, turned on the water and came out and told us you were going to do your dishes. We came into the bathroom and found this! You washed all the ducks and dried them with a towel. I promise you came up with this game on your own!

Long Beach Aquarium and Queen Mary

We spent the night on the Queen Mary. We enjoyed staying in such first class accommodations and a good nights sleep! You mean while spent the night with Aunt Teresa and Uncle Scott. They brought you down to the Long Beach Aquarium to meet us in the morning. It was a fun place to check out the fish, the penguins and turtles. You enjoyed us taking the bus back to the Queen Mary after it was done as well. You love riding on buses and trains.

Rain Rain/Queen Mary

This morning it rained and we went for a little walk in the rain. You didn't mind, in fact you loved splashing in the puddles. You came home soaking wet and I had to change all your clothes! You also found a new place to ride in the stroller, the bottom basket! I only let you ride for a bit, but you loved it.

Mommy and Daddy went to spend the night at the Queen Mary to spend a weekend and you spent the night at Aunt Teresa's house. You were a good girl!

Daddy Snuggles

You love Daddy's new chair Genevieve! You like sitting on it with Daddy and you most of all like sitting on it when Daddy gets up for a minute. You see its open and make a run for it! What a sweetheart.

Brush your teeth!

You love to brush your teeth, mostly you enjoy eating the toothpaste. I got you two light up tooth brushes for Christmas and you enjoy seeing it flash as you brush. You always get a bit of mommy's toothpaste and some of daddy's toothpaste and brush, sometimes 3-4 times a day if we would let you!

Purple People Eater

You are wearing a lot of purple this week Genevieve! Today your outfit was all purple again and you had your favorite shoes on: your tap shoes! They aren't really tap shoes, but Grandma calls them that because they look like tap shoes and you whole heartily agreed!

Dress from Grandma

Grandma made you this very purple dress. It has satin trim and is very pretty You seem to like it as well You are lucky to have a talented grandma to make you so many cute clothes!

Amy's Farm- Ontario

Today we had a small side field trip to Amy's farm in Ontario. You had a good time looking at the horses, chickens, cows and other animals on the farm. You liked the idea of the cow more then going over and petting him though...

So Cal Weather

I love living here! You are in short sleeves and a shirt, on Jan. 20. I can't imagine living in snow and cold, it dips to 60 and I am cold! We have colder and summer clothes categories, not winter and summer clothes categories. Love you get to wear your summer stuff year round.

Birthday Party

Today you set up this "birthday party" for me in the front room. You put down the "blanket", brought in photos and set down the cake. I came in and we sang happy birthday a bunch of times. It was fun! Later in the day we went to Grandma's house.

Mommy's book

You have figured out how to get the step stool from you room, bring it into my mom to reach the book you like to look through. You always treat it very nice, but I am just afraid one day an accident will happen and I will lose a big chunk of pages out of it!

Nana and Papa's House

You love going to Nana and Papa's house. They always have juice and cookies for you, as well as a ride in your car or bike around the block.

More legs!

You love following Mommy around the house, all wrapped up in my legs! You are a cutie, but I am going to injure both of us if this keeps up!

Huell Howser Memorial

Today Mommy was lucky enough to be able to attend the Huell Howser public memorial at Griffth Observatory. It was a beautiful day, perfect weather and a nice crowd came to remember Huell. I am so glad I could attend, I will miss Huell...

Brooklyn came over today to Grandma's house and you played. You love your friend Brooklyn!

Fun at the Library

I was trying to find a talk from Inland Empire Explorers, went to two wrong libraries before I realized it was at the Ontario library! By that time it was too late so we just read books and played at the Rancho library. You knew where everything was because Grandma takes you there for your class each week. You were a good tour guide!

Wrapped in my legs

Sometimes you love being so close to me, that you hold onto my legs as I try to walk around the house. It is kind of fun, until I almost trip and take us both down. I love that like being close, just sometimes I need space to walk!

Spending the night at Grandma's House

Tonight you are going to spend the night at Grandma's house so I had to grab a photo of you in the morning. Grandma got all your stuff packed and you were off to a fun day with Grandma and Grandpa. I love this photo Grandma took of you and all the puppies lined up.

Purple Cat Jammies

You are old enough now to have an opinion about what you want to wear. Tonight you picked out your purple cat jammies to wear to bed. What a little girl with such a big opinion!

Sleepy Time

You took a late nap and did not want to get up, you whined and whined until I put you back to sleep. Not a bad night for Mommy but hope your ok to!

Another potty post!

You can tell what we talk about her a lot. Tonight your baby had to go poop again, so you kept her entertained by singing Itsy Bitsy Spider while she went. What a cutie.

Baby went potty!

Your baby is so good Genevieve. She had to go potty and you took her. And what do you know, she needed a treat afterwards? You fed her the M&M's but when she won't bite she suggested you eat them, and you did.

Lunch with the Family

Today Nana took you out to LA to have a nice lunch with Great Grandpa Fortune, Aunt Christi, Aunt Danette, Jessica and more Saucedos! You were such a good girl and ate a good lunch. Mommy, Daddy and Uncle Chris went to the Ontario Reign Game. You are always such a good girl for Nana.

Upside Down Baby

You were one happy baby this morning when you woke up! Daddy was lifting you up and swinging you around and you were laughing and laughing. We had many stops today! 1st stop was the park with Baby Lindsay. You had a good time with her shovel and pail. Next up was Charlotte's 5th birthday in Long Beach. You had a good time driving the baby gold cart and playing with games. On the way home though you threw up your lunch (maybe to much food?) all over yourself and your car seat. You said, "Mama, yuckies on my belly, my pizza" (i guess there was chunks of pizza still in it). You handled it like a champ though.

Baby Dolls

You became attached to this baby from Grandma's house. It was Aunt Teresa's baby from when she was little. You certainly have become a good mommy to her. You take her potty, share your food and carry her around the house.

Chair Shopping for Daddy

Daddy lost his chair right before we put up the Christmas tree. It was broken and time for it to go. Now that the tree is down it was time to find a suitable replacement. We headed out furniture shopping and found a great chair at the first place we stopped! You loved driving in the little red car shopping cart around the store and you were very sad to leave it.

Genevieve you have a bad habit of throwing your hands in front of your face when you don't want me to take your photo. Although it looks like you are doing an 80's dance move, you are actually saying no pictures, no pictures! You had duck, Geo, Millie and Bot all loaded up in the stroller for a ride around the house tonight.
